ID anxiety in the land over the state of the nation, former Minister of Information, Prince Tony Momoh, says President Muhammadu Buhari was capable of tackling headlong the myriad of problems confronting Nigeria, adding that he remained the only President since independence who diligently sought the office and got it.
Momoh, who spoke in Auchi, Etsako West Local Council of Edo, stressed that the agitations notwithstanding, the South East geo-political zone stood to be the biggest beneficiary of the current administration.
The Auchi prince thundered: “At the end of the day if Buhari doesn’t perform, stone us because he is going to perform.”
The former minister, who is also a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) went memory lane, saying:
“He is the only one who came since independence to be president of Nigeria and succeeded. No other one. Tafawa Balewa wanted to be a broadcaster, he became prime minister. Shehu Shagari wanted to become a senator, he became president.
Obasanjo was in prison praying to be released. At the end of the day, he became president. Late Yar ‘Adua wanted to retire to lecture in Ahmadu Bello University, he later became president. Jonathan was taken from Bayelsa to Abuja and made Vice President and later became acting president and president.
Buhari went into politics and wanted to be president, 2003, he failed, 2007 he failed, 2011 he failed and 2015 he succeeded.
